H.U.V.A. Network — музыкальная группа, дуэт, образованный французом Винсентом Вилуи (фр. Vincent Villuis) и шведом Магнусом Биргерссоном (англ. Magnus Birgersson). Вилуи имеет сценический псевдоним Aes Dana, а Биргерссон — Solar Fields. Под этими псевдонимами Вилуи и Биргерссон выпускали и выпускают музыкальные альбомы самостоятельно, но в 2004 году их объединенными усилиями был выпущен альбом «Distances» в рамках новосозданной музыкальной группы «H.U.V.A. Network». «Distances» был выпущен в 2004 году и на его создание понадобилось около 7 месяцев: 6 месяцев на непосредственное написания музыки, 2 недели на микширование и одна неделя на мастеринг совместно с другим музыкантом под псевдонимом Huby Sea.[1] В процессе создания этого альбома Вилуи и Биргерссон общались в бо́льшей мере через Интернет, музыку писали отдельно на своих студиях: Биргерссон в «Jupiter Studio» в Гётеборге, а Вилуи в «Ultimae Studio» в Лионе.[2] Этот дебютный альбом был высоко оценен множеством независимых музыкальных обозревателей.[3] Через 5 лет, в 2009 году, вышел их второй альбом — «Ephemeris». При его создании композиторы несколько раз собирались в одном месте (на студии Биргерссона «Jupiter Studio» в Гётеборге и студии Вилуи «Ultimae Studio» в Лионе) и писали музыку. Как позже в интервью сообщил Винсент Вилуи, эту идею предложил Магнус, и впоследствии они оба её поддержали.[4] Название группы «H.U.V.A. Network» расшифровывается как «Humans Under Visual Atmospheres Network», что примерно означает «сеть людей под (влиянием) визуальных атмосфер».[5] Однако в интервью композиторы заявили, что под понятием H.U.V.A. они понимают не совсем то, что оно значит: «Термин H.U.V.A. обозначает понятие тайны, маски… Он похож на мини концептуальный код».

Paul Ellis

Paul Ellis was born on Oct. 10 1961 and from an early age began to show a strong creative streak that began with drawing and changed to music in 1977 after buying copies of the classic European Electronic albums Stratosfear (TD) , Mirage (KS) , Oxygene (JMJ) and Snowflakes are Dancing (T) within a week's time. This proved to be a profound awakening for him. He suddenly began hearing a sort of music rising up within himself almost like resonant strings vibrating. The music though extraordinarily different than anything he'd heard before sounded strangely familiar.


It seemed too far out of reach at the time as synths were very, very expensive then… So he bought a classical guitar and began studying Classical, Ragtime, Jazz and Folk music... later playing bass and guitar in a Rock band but always dreaming of recreating that sound he heard in his head from synthesizers. In the mid eighties he bought his first few synths, then added multitracking and from that point on sold his guitars and never looked back. He has continued to release albums in the classic European Electronic style ever since bringing his own unique touch to the genre. He was a founding member of the band Dweller at the Threshold and has also released several solo works and collaborations with artists such as Steve Roach

Данный проект был создан Джовани Фацио (Giovanni Fazio) в 1993 году, автором, композитором и музыкантом многих других амбиент/даб/электронных поектов. Джовани Фацио родился в США, проживает в Токио с 90-х. Проект Makyo он начал с участниками команды Padmasana. Также к его залугами можно отнести создание лейбла Dakini Records, которая радует всех поклонников стиля downbeat, dub, ambient и electronic релизами от артистов со всех углов планеты. Первым треком был «Feed Your Head» на лейбле Planet Dog Records в 1993 году. Musically, Frood is the result of a range of influences. The makers struggle to decide on the style and the genre it fits into but little time is spent debating this largely irrelevant question. We simply serve the music and it makes itself, so we can only quote a few critics opinions, such as "Floyd crossed with Sphongle", "kind of like trippy folk music", "a unique multidimensional blend of psychedelic-folk and groovy-electro" and our favourite quote "we suspect the work of hippies".
The original ideas and concepts start with Rich (bass) and Steve (guitar/afri-can) who have been working on Floyd/Zep style projects since 2001 before discovering the versatilities of electronic recording and its masters such as Ott and Shpongle. Deep and mystical ideas provide the theme then, once the story has been set, it is unleashed upon fellow Froodsters – Chris (vox, guitar), Myshell (vox/percussion) and Ruari (percussion, turntables) who help to give it life.
Our first offering, ’Psychonaut’, was released in 2004 with the help of our friends at Amboworld and it has sold, albeit in a modest capacity, all over our fragile earth. Notable performances to date have been supporting Ozric Tentacles in Brighton in March 2005 (see a video and pictures here) and the Synergy Project at London's SeOne club, among other memorable occasions particularly in the summer of 2005.
So, it’s taken forever it seems but at last Frood's second album is complete and ready for release. It was recorded in a make-do studio in Berkshire throughout 2007. Having thought it was about ready for release in Feb 2008 we sent it to the band's favourite producer, Ott (ottsonic.com). We didn’t expect a response (an opinion at best) but a very complimentary email was received that culminated in a commission to remix and help produce the work.
...and then the sun came out! Ott took the pieces, pulled them apart and re-created the tracks to sound, well you’ll hear for yourselves. He managed to squeeze 110% more energy, crispness and depth into the mixes while retaining the artists original tunes, vibe and meaning. Then he took the individual tracks and built the album, again managing to portray the mood of the piece better than we ever could. The word “genius” comes to mind, easily.
When receiving a disc in the post that sounds like this, after all of the time and effort invested, you don’t want to then scrimp and save at the final hurdle. Ott was flown over from Spain, we hired him a car and he then spent a day at The Soundmasters, London to sit in on a mastering session by Kevin Metcalfe. We could list those Kevin has worked for but its far easier to say “everyone you’ve heard of”. Just when we thought the mix couldn’t get any better...
